A for Apple full feature begins shooting in February 2015

Mohit Prasad 2015

Pre-production has started on expanded full feature length for the award winning film A for Apple. The plantation era circa 1907 based film is now expanded to cover 25 years stretching back to 1882 when the first sugar mill in Nausori was opened by the Colonial Sugar Refining Company.  The basic premise of the short feature is given new treatment in the full feature length expanding on characters and situations based on the transactional nature of relationships on plantation in indenture period Fiji between white colonialists, Indian indentured laborers, Native Fijians, Islanders, and Part-Europeans .

The film dwells on the relationship between the nanny Appellamma and the old jaded overseer Walters who enter a troubling relationship with consequences for them and those around them that no one imagined possible.

Casting and screen tests will be called for later in February 2015. A list of characters and film synopsis will be available on these pages.
